The first thing we need to get squared away for this move is signing a contract with a pet shipping company. Back in October 2007 I had contacted a company that gave me a great quote to move the two dogs. It was a good 10% lower than other quotes I'd received. We were all set to go with them when we learned that the move was delayed.
I got back in touch with them this past week, and they requoted me. Their quote went up $1000! It's apparently due to an increase in quarantine and air freight costs. I can understand that, but I was really not expecting it to increase so much.
I guess I'll have to get new quotes from these other companies again, to see if their numbers are competitive. If this company is in the ballpark I'll most likely go with them. But we'll see.
