Working on Chinese New Year is strange. firstly, there are very few people in the office. At first, this was a demotivator for me, but it turned into a plus. After I finally got my computer to stop crashing on me, I actually made some decent progress today. Chinese New Year is a very festive time in Singapore, but, almost like Christmas day in the States, very little is open. when I left for work this morning, it was almost like driving through a ghost town; so little traffic and comparatively less hustle and bustle than usual. Despite that, there is just something special in the air this time of year. It’s also the only time of the year you can get tasty mandarin oranges here. some of the produce that is imported into Singapore tastes like rubbish, and this is the case with oranges. However, the mandarin oranges are simply yummy this time of year.
Happy Chinese New Year Singapore and a festive holiday to all my friends and loved ones.
