So lots of our friends and family mentioned that they found their way to this blog...so click on the notification button at the bottom of the page, and you'll know whenever we update it!
Today begins the 3 week countdown to the move. Our furniture and belongings are gone. (I wanted to get photos of the movers loading up the sea container, but they left before I got there with my camera!) The house is sadly bare, and that's when it really hit us. It is no longer our home. I go over there every 2-3 days to check on things and water the plants, and it's so strange to walk in there. It's already kind of musty, and it echoes, echoes, echoes...
There has been a little bit of interest in the house, and there's a 2nd showing this afternoon. The last time they saw the house was when it was full of furniture and staged, so I hope seeing it empty doesn't kill their interest. We've been staying in a corporate apartment for a couple of weeks now, and I've forgotten how sucky it is to live in an apartment. Drunk, cussing neighbors, loud music at midnight, dog poo everywhere. And the apartment itself has lots of annoying quirks that I will be glad to be rid of when we leave. But the upside is, we have a wasp's nest on our patio, and we can just call maintenance to take care of it!
I think the kids are finally starting to get used to being here. They share a bedroom, though, so it's been a battle every night to get them to sleep. I know the moment it's time to leave will be when they're just starting to get comfortable.
In closing, a special thank you to the Schuberts for the wonderful Bon Voyage party! It was fun, and so appreciated. We'll miss you guys a lot.
